Landscaping
Landscaping covers the individual improvements that change how your garden works: a new fence, a patio or path, raised beds, a lawn or a revised planting area. We take on single jobs as well as projects combining several elements, across Colchester, Clacton and nearby villages.
Landscaping
What the service involves
Fencing, patios, raised beds and garden improvements.
You may already know exactly what you need, such as replacing a fence or creating a patio outside the back door. Or you may have several problems to solve together: an uneven lawn, an awkward route through the garden and nowhere suitable to sit. We can discuss those as separate jobs or as parts of one agreed project.
The preparation is as important as the visible finish. Before agreeing the work, we need to understand what is already there, what needs removing and how materials and waste can move through the site. For paving and paths, that includes levels and how water will be managed. For fencing and raised beds, the layout, materials and ground conditions help define what needs to be installed.
Photographs, approximate measurements and a simple sketch are useful, but you do not need a finished design to contact us. Tell us how you want to use the space, any materials you prefer and the features you want to keep. Mention restricted access, nearby drains, manholes or services you know about, as these can affect the proposed approach. A visit may be needed before the specification and quotation can be confirmed.
If the work needs to happen in stages, tell us at the outset. We can discuss which tasks depend on others, whether irrigation needs to be considered before new surfaces are finished, and what belongs in the initial scope. The agreed quotation should make clear what is included and what, if anything, is being left for a later phase.
A quotation for your garden.
Use the enquiry form to send your postcode, a description of the work and approximate measurements where relevant. We will discuss the scope and any visit needed before confirming the quotation. Mention timing, access and removal at the outset so these can be considered together. Once we reply, photographs can be sent by email if they help us assess the garden.
Can I book fencing or a patio without a complete garden redesign?
Yes. One fence, a raised bed, a replacement lawn or a small paving area can be a job in its own right. Use the enquiry form to tell us the individual work you need, your postcode and approximate sizes. For a combined project, include all the elements you have in mind so we can discuss their order and the overall scope. Once we reply, you can send photographs by email. You do not need separate enquiries for each task.

A few words from our customers.
Their gardens, in their own words.
We have recently used The Garden Grow to remove a completely rotten palisade boundary fence, and replace it with a new one, and we have been very happy with both their prompt response and their quote, and they completed the work efficiently and very satisfactorily. We are very pleased with the result and would definitely recommend them. It's always good to support local companies too.
Dave and team are first class professional workers, and use first class products They have replaced both our back and front lawns to perfection using top quality turf. The whole procedure took only two days and involved a) completely removing the old lawns. b) treating the ground for leather jackets c) adding top soil d) laying top quality turf. After watering and watching it settle and grow we now have two luxurious looking lawns which are the envy of our neighbours. In fact one actually admits to having “Lawn Envy” If you want a first class job performed by professionals we can’t recommend David and team highly enough.
